What could be more fun in a toy exhibition than seeing the toys being played with? The curator of toys and museum technician carefully demonstrated the toys so guests could experience the joy of an 18th century toy. The video was recorded on a DSLR camera and the audio with a shotgun microphone and a handheld Zoom recorder. All toys were demonstrated in their exhibition cases as to minimize risk to the toys.
This toy catalog is a delicate object, with dim lighting in the case. The page is periodically turned to protect the illustrations from fading. To provide guests an opportunity to see all 226 pages this touchscreen flip book was created. Guests can turn the pages themselves, pick a different to skip to, and even zoom in and out. The book also auto flips so it is accessible to people who are unable operate the touchscreen.
